Volunteering Services: PEEP Parents Early Education Partnership Volunteering
Tomorrow Today is always looking for adults who enjoy helping Benalla's children and families as part of our Education Benalla Program. PEEP is a free weekly program for parents and children that recognises and values parents as their child's first and most important ongoing educator. At PEEP parents discover how to create the best possible start for their child from birth using everyday learning opportunities - listening, talking, playing, singing and sharing books and stories. A key feature of PEEP is "Talk Time" where parents share strategies and ideas on parenting and child development issues.
As a PEEP volunteer, your role will be within the playroom while the parents engage in "Talk Time". Duties include assisting with:- the setup of the playroom; supervising the children's learning activities; talking with the children to promote speech, language, numeracy and literacy development; and ensuring safe and respectful play. Trained Early Childhood staff are present in the playroom at all times.
